About Marc

Marc was born in Evanston IL in 1962. Marc grew up in Barrington IL, spending over 20 years there before moving to Wisconsin. In 1980 Marc began attending Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL, graduating with a B.S. in Meteorology in 1984, a B.A. in U.S. History in 1985, and finally a M.A. in History in 1987. Marc and his wife, also from Barrington, were married in 1986, they have four children together.

In 1994, Marc, Amy, and their first two children moved to a rundown old farm in Door County, WI. Subsequently Marc and Amy had two more children born in Green Bay. Marc and Amy have spent many hard years fixing up the old farm and log home into what it is today. Wildwood Farm is a successful family farm raising organic vegetables, beef cattle, pigs, broiler chickens, and laying hens. They have been actively involved in the movement to renew our connection with the land and uphold the long traditions of Wisconsin agriculture. Marc and Amy believe strongly in a sustainable agricultural community of farmers, producing food for the local market and across the state, country, and world.

Marc also earns part of the family’s income by working off the farm as a painting contractor, having a successful small business of about 15 employees while living in Illinois, and working as an individual craftsman here in Door County. Marc has also been active in the Republican Party for many years, serving as Chairman of the County party for two years. Marc also has served on the Door County Board of Supervisors for 4 terms, sitting on many of the oversight committees that serve the citizens of the county, including law enforcement, mental health, public health, land use, soil and water conservation, and finance.
