Energy

Energy independence is a national security requirement. Our country’s greatness has derived from our ability to control our own future. Congress needs to immediately eliminate the regulatory nightmare that radical environmentalist have created over the last several decades so that business may reliably invest in energy production of all kinds right here in this country. Nuclear power should be a priority. It has a proven track record of safety, reliability, and a near zero carbon footprint. Congress should also encourage private capital, through tax breaks and credits, to invest in research and development of all other renewable energy production from wind, to solar, hydrogen and others. Congress should release the offshore oil fields for exploration and harvest of our oil resources. Congress should allow production to begin now in all the Alaskan oil fields. Oil and its availability is the lifeblood of our economic health in the near term. We need inexpensive energy so that our cost of living can be reduced. Oil prices are reflected not only in the fuel in our vehicles, but also in the food we eat, the packaging we use, and the household products we buy. A policy of sustainable energy production and efficient energy use is an indispensable factor in improving our quality of life.
