Jobs
The government does not create one private sector job. What it can do is create the economic environment most conducive to a healthy, sustainable economy. Unfortunately it can create more government jobs by taking from those who are earning money in the private sector and hiring government workers. However, the most efficient way to increase jobs overall, is to promote economic growth by leaving the money in the hands of those who actually create jobs. A government employee does not create or produce one dollar of taxable economic activity. A private sector job, created by all of us in our daily economic lives as consumers, investors, and savers, is where the real engine of economic prosperity lies.
The Congress should have a pro growth policy based on the individual, not on the expansion of tax and spend, wealth and incentive destroying government policies. Lowering income tax rates across the board is the best way to spur economic expansion. We need to get our federal budget in order. Stop spending beyond our means and get our budget balanced. Congress needs to stay out of the individuals way by eliminating overly burdensome rules and regulations, letting our capitalist system of incentive and reward for hard work , begin to turn this economy around and improve confidence in the future. Only then will there be a willingness to invest in new businesses, expand existing operations, and get folks who want to work , back to work.
